FAQ

What is Stellar Bodies and The Stellar Method?

Stellar Bodies represents a cutting-edge fitness fusion, seamlessly melding weight training with specially adapted Pilates movements using a custom machine. This innovative approach combines the best of both worlds: the muscle-building and sculpting benefits of weight training with the elongating and posture-enhancing effects of Pilates.

At Stellar Bodies, we prioritize dynamic workouts that elevate heart rates and incinerate calories. By incorporating a range of exercises, including classic favorites like push-ups and lunges, our program ensures a comprehensive full-body workout experience.

What sets Stellar Bodies apart is the utilization of the custom machine, which provides unparalleled support, reducing pressure on joints and the spine while enabling participants to engage in challenging movements safely and effectively.

In essence, Stellar Bodies offers a transformative fitness journey, where participants can achieve their goals efficiently and safely, guided by expert instructors in a supportive and empowering environment.

I have never worked out on a reformer. Should I do a Private Session first?

We recommend starting with a Stellar Basics class — if your schedule allows — which offers a slower-paced and simplified version of our full-body workout. Our instructors provide comprehensive machine rundowns, detailed move descriptions, and hands-on adjustments to ensure you receive a Stellar workout experience. Our Full Body classes cater to varying fitness levels but move at a faster pace than a Basics class. While the sessions are rigorous, newcomers typically adapt well to the intensity of both class types. However, if you have chronic pain, a serious medical condition, or seek personalized attention, we advise starting with a private session to evaluate your fitness level.

How often should I take a Stellar Class?

The Stellar workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue, at which point you need to rest. This workout is recommended 2 to 3 times per week, but some clients love the workout so much that they come 5 or 6 times a week. Listen to your body — you may need more time or less time to recover, depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout.

What should I bring to class?

  • Prioritize comfort: Opt for attire that facilitates easy movement and stretching for your muscles.
  • Minimize accessories: Avoid bulky jewelry and opt for hairstyles that keep your hair away from equipment to prevent accidents.
  • Equip yourself: Grip socks are essential and conveniently available for purchase.
  • Stay hydrated: Enjoy access to filtered water or purchase bottled water at both studios.
  • Embrace positivity: Approach the class with a positive mindset, leaving worries behind to fully engage and reap the benefits of your workout session.

Can I take class while pregnant?

We always suggest consulting with your doctor on this one. Typically, we don’t recommend trying a new workout if you’re expecting, however clients who have been regularly attending classes are usually clear to continue doing so. Our instructors are trained to give modifications to clients who are expecting, so please be sure to let them know before class so they can customize your workout.

What is your cancellation policy?

Stellar Bodies enforces a strict 8-hour cancellation policy. If you have reserved your place in class and fail to cancel 8 hours in advance, you will forfeit a class from your package/membership (unlimited members incur a $25 late cancel fee). There are no exceptions.

What if I no show?

If you fail to cancel your class and do not show up, you will be charged a $25 “no show” fee in addition to losing your class. All unlimited members will receive a $30 charge for each no show.

How does the waitlist work?

Many Stellar Bodies classes sell out. But if the class you want is sold out, you can get on our waitlist. As people cancel, we add people from our waitlist in order and we will notify you by email and text message (so make sure you’re subscribed!). Please note that if you clear the waitlist and are added to the class, you are still subject to the late cancellation and no show policy fees.

What are my chances of getting off the waitlist?

Pretty good, actually! Many people book their Stellar classes weeks in advance so there will be a lot of cancellations a day or two before class. We move clients from the waitlist up to 1 hour before the class starts, so keep an eye out.
